What kinds of services do we provide?
We offer workshops, retreats, and consultations designed specifically for
the requirements of each institution.

Workshops and retreats combine short presentations, substantial interaction
among participants, handouts, and follow-up resources. Space and equipment
requirements vary.

Consultations include problem identification, strategy development,
implementation and appropriate follow-up.
What kinds of projects do we do?
We help design environments for learning at all levels of colleges and
universities: from the interactions between faculty and students in the classroom
to the supporting organizational structures of the institution.
Workshops for Faculty and Graduate Students.

We conduct workshops on a range of topics related to student learning, guided
by contemporary research on learning. Topics include what we know about how
students learn, teaching for understanding, inquiry-guided learning, assessing
learning to improve learning, and more.

Curriculum Reform in Academic Departments and Schools.

We work with academic departments and schools to foster readiness for
curriculum reform. We also assist them in clarifying curricular-level outcomes,
thinking about these outcomes developmentally, and then designing learning
environments and experiences to promote them.

Institution-wide Teaching and Learning Reform.  

We help institutions conceive reform efforts, design and implement related
faculty development programs, realize efficiencies through collaboration among
units, and align organizational structures to support reform.

Assistance with New Reaffirmation Guidelines related to Teaching and
Learning
.

We help institutions use the new reaffirmation guidelines to support the learning
they value. We assist institutions in conceiving the teaching and learning
initiatives required by some regional accrediting bodies. We also help
institutions develop student learning outcomes and course-based outcomes
assessment related to academic program review.
